Nagaland: COVID-19 recoveries surpass new cases for 4th consecutive day

Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): Cases of COVID-19 recoveries continued to surpass new cases for the fourth day in a row as Nagaland recorded 90 recoveries and 42 new cases on Wednesday.

Dimapur recorded 64 COVID-19 recoveries, Tuensang- 12, Kohima- 11, Zunheboto- 2, while Kiphire reported 1 case. 

This takes the total number of active cases in the state to 838 out of 9,578 total infections and 8,595 cases that were previously positive have since recovered, according to the daily  bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.

The state’s tally of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 44. This excludes the 6 ‘not COVID related’ deaths and 3 other deaths presently under investigation by the state death review committee.

Wednesday’s new cases were detected in Dimapur (6 Armed Forces/ Security Personnel, 4 returnees/travelers, 16 traced contacts), Kohima (6 traced contacts, 1 frontline worker), Mokokchung (1 traced contact), Mon (4 traced contacts), Tuensang (2 traced contacts), Peren (1 traced contact) and Zunheboto (1 returnee/traveler).

As per the severity of symptoms 781 active cases are asymptomatic, 28 active cases are mild, 10 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 12 active cases are severe on oxygen, 3 active cases are critical without oxygen and 4 active cases are on ventilator.
