The Commissioner of Police Dimapur today issued an order laying down the security and traffic protocol for transportation of returnees from Chennai who are scheduled to reach Dimapur on May 22.
The order informed that the estimated time of arrival of the returnees is 1:00 pm in the afternoon.
On arrival, the returnees will be taken from the railway station to the Agri Expo reception area for further necessary arrangement. Police escort will be provided for the buses transporting the passengers.
The Commissioner of Police informed that the designated route of transit for the returnees is via Traffic Control, Zone I – Hotel Theja Fort (through under the flyover) – Burma Camp Junction – Veterinary Junction – Old Dhansiri Bridge – Purana Bazaar junction – TK Service – two and a half mile to Agri Expo, 4th Mile.
Normal vehicle traffic along the aforementioned designated route will not be allowed temporarily for 3 hours—1 hour before and 2 hours after the estimated time of arrival of the special train (i.e. from 12 noon to 3:00pm).
The order meanwhile directed the 15 NAP (IR) Battalion to provide outer cordon security around the railway station and the railway track (200 meters either side).
The outer periphery of the station and the tracks will be completely sealed off and no individual will be allowed to enter or exit the railway station except through the designated passage at the main entrance.
There will be phase wise de boarding of passengers from the special train bogies according to the availability of buses and security escort.
No unauthorized individual or vehicle will be allowed to enter the railway station.
