613 samples test negative, results for 16 awaited
KOHIMA, APRIL 27 (MExN): 613 samples sent for testing from Nagaland have tested negative for COVID-19.
A total of 629 samples have been sent for testing from the State and results for 16 are awaited. The 16 samples were sent for testing during the period from 3:00pm of April 26 and 3:00pm of April 27.
Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha meanwhile informed that the Prime Minister today held a video conference with Chief Ministers of all the States. The PM appreciated the joint efforts of the Chief Ministers on various fronts, particularly in enforcing the lockdown which has helped in slowing the spread of Novel Corona virus in the country.
He however forewarned that the danger of the virus is far from over and urged for constant vigil. Joining the discussion, the Union Home Minister urged the Chief Ministers to ensure that the guidelines of the lockdown are strictly enforced.
During the video conference, the Chief Minister of Nagaland was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister, the Minister Health and Family Welfare, the Minister, Planning and Coordination, the Advisor, Food and Civil Supplies, the Chief Secretary and other senior officials of the State.
Sinha meanwhile also issued the daily report on law &order and facilitation of essential goods &services in the State for April 27. The report stated that 21 violations of the lockdown were reported and 21 persons were “bound down.” There has been no report of any law and order incident in any part of the State, it added.
According to the report, groceries and other food shops including milk shops were open in all the districts except in Mokokchung, where it will open the following day. Medicinal shops remain open in all the districts of the State.
No shortage of food grains, groceries milk or medicines have been reported. The report also informed that suitable arrangements have been made for providing food and shelter to migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 restrictions.
In this regard, 4 relief camps are functioning where 469 migrant labourers are housed and 4 active food camps have been set up. Also, more than 4,400 daily wagers and needy people were provided food/dry ration.
