914 samples test negative, results for 38 awaited

 

KOHIMA, MAY 17 (MExN): 914 samples from Nagaland have tested negative for COVID-19 as of 4:00pm, May 17. In total, 952 samples have been sent from the State for testing of which results for 38 are awaited. Meanwhile, 25 samples were tested by Truenat, all of which tested negative.


Today, a total of 3004 persons have been screened and a total of 1406 persons are under Facility Quarantine, according to the daily briefing from Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha. 


He also informed that the Chief Secretary conducted a video conference meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and the Chief Medical Officers of all districts on Sunday, and deliberated on the quarantine arrangements being made for the stranded citizens of Nagaland returning from other States and all the protocols that need to be followed. No other details were provided.


4,095 citizens opt to stay back
Sinha meanwhile informed that a total of 4,095 citizens of Nagaland presently outside the State, have opted to stay back at their respective places, and filled up the required form, on the portal iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in for the one-time assistance for Rs 10,000.


The facility for submitting applications closed at 7:00 pm, on May 16.


With regard to arrival of stranded people into Nagaland from other States, a total of 1382 persons have already arrived till date, he added.


Meanwhile, according to a report from the DIPR late on Sunday, altogether 47 returnees reached Dimapur from New Delhi and Dibrugarh by train. One person arrived from Assam by private vehicle and 3 buses from Arunachal Pradesh arrived with 45 returnees. On arrival at the reception center at Agri Expo Dimapur, all the returnees filled in the forms with necessary particulars and were screened, after which they were taken to their respective quarantine centers, the DIPR stated.
