Nagaland COVID-19 update

948 samples test negative, results for 30 awaited
KOHIMA, May 19 (MExN): 978 samples have been sent for COVID-19 testing from Nagaland State, of which 948 samples have tested negative. Results for 30 samples are awaited as of 4:00 pm on May 19.
Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha informed that as of Tuesday, a total of 26 samples have been tested on Truenat and all are negative. A total of 922 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine while 744 persons are under Home Quarantine, Sinha said.
Financial assistance for citizens stranded outside
Sinha meanwhile informed that a total of Rs 1.07 crore has been disbursed as ‘one-time financial assistance’ of Rs 10000 to 1071 stranded persons of Nagaland who voluntarily opted to stay back in their respective places.
He also said that 1002 persons are currently being monitored through the nCOVID-19 Nagaland- Visitors App.
Meanwhile, the District Surveillance Unit, Dimapur informed that a total of 38979 medical fitness certificates have been issued in Dimapur as of May 19. The issue of such certificates for people who applied for inter-district as well as inter-state movement began on May 2.
1,316 arrive on May 19
A report from the DIPR meanwhile informed that a total of 1316 returnees reached Nagaland on May 19 according to updates from the Agri Expo screening center.
Of these, 674 returnees were from Dimapur District, 61 from Peren, 195 from Mon, 159 from Kohima, 67 from Mokokchung, 58 from Phek, 13 from Zunheboto, 34 from Tuensang, 12 from Kiphire, 13 from Longleng, and 30 from Wokha.
