Nagaland COVID-19 update: 61 suspected samples test negative, 4 results awaited

DIMAPUR, APRIL 8 (MExN): Sixty-one suspected samples of COVID-19 have come back negative as of 5:00pm of April 8.

 


This was informed by Principal Secretary, Home, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha during the State Government’s daily briefing on Wednesday evening. 

 


In total, 65 samples have been sent from the State of Nagaland, of which results for 61 samples have been received and they are all negative. The results of 4 samples are awaited. 

 


Till now, a total of 5126 persons have signed up in the ncovid-19 Nagaland App, where 3616 persons have self-declared their details. The Principal Secretary urged all those who have entered the State after March 6 to self-register in the app with their full details. 

 


The number of persons who are presently under home quarantine is 1314 and 25 are at facility quarantine, it was added. 

 


The Principal Secretary also informed that during the lockdown, relief camps and shelters have been set up by the Dimapur district administration for more than 350 stranded migrant labourers and more than 8,000 daily wagers. Other needy people are also being provided food and food grains across the State by the District Administrations and several civil society organizations.  

 


Reports from the districts regarding the availability of food grains, medicines, POL and other essential goods and commodities are being regularly updated. The position continues to be normal, Sinha assured.  

 


He meanwhile acknowledged the continued cooperation extended to the Government by everyone during this lockdown period.
