Nagaland cricket captain Jonathan Rongsen signs for Morecambe CC

DIMAPUR, MARCH 29 (MExN): Captain of the Nagaland cricket team Jonathan Rongsen has signed for Morecambe Cricket Club in the United Kingdom. 

A statement on the club’s website said: “Morecambe CC are pleased to announce the signing of a new professional Rongsen Jonathan for the 2021 season.”

“Rongsen an experienced batsman who can bowl off spin currently plays for Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy and will join MCC as a replacement for Mitchel Van Buure,” it added.

Morecambe Cricket Club is an English cricket club based in the tourist resort of Morecambe, Lancashire. The club runs three teams, the 1st team plays in the Northern Premier Cricket League. The 2nd team play in the Moore & Smalley Palace Shield and the 3rd team competes in the Westmorland League.

The club won the Northern Premier League for the sixth time in 2015.

Rongsen, who captains the Nagaland team, has been impressive over the two seasons of the Ranji Trophy that the State team has been involved in.
