Unauthorised high beam lights, blinkers, led lights in vehicles and modified silencers in two wheelers seized by the Dimapur Police from City Tower area, Dimapur on November 25. A total of 55 unauthorized lights and 2 modified silencers were seized during the checking. 47 defaulters were penalized under MV Act, the Dimapur Police PRO informed.
Dimapur, November 27 (MExN): The Dimapur Police on Friday provided an update on various arrests and penal actions taken in the district against defaulters.
One arrested for extortion
On November 23, one person identified as Vicky Gogoi (28 yrs) was apprehended while extorting money from fruit shops at Burma Camp, Dimapur in the name of the NSCN (IM).
The Dimapur Police reported the recovery of cash amounting to Rs 300, one yearly tax extortion document for coconut retailer shops and one motorcycle with fake registration from his possession. In this connection, a case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur.
Defaulters penalized under MV Act
In an effort to ensure safety of all road users, the Dimapur Traffic Police conducted surprise enforcement and checking on the use of unauthorised high beam lights, blinkers, led lights in vehicles and modified silencers in two wheelers at City Tower area, Dimapur on November 25.
A total of 55 unauthorized lights and 2 modified silencers were seized during the checking.
47 defaulters were penalized under MV Act, the release informed.
One arrested with illegal drugs
On November 26, Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Adani Mao (54 yrs) from a hotel in Dimapur and on frisking / checking, suspected Heroin (50 grams approx) neatly packed inside a five soap cases were recovered /seized from his possession.
In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur, the release added.
