Nagaland crush Mizoram by 177 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate Match

Nischal’s 182 and Sedezhalie’s 124 propel big victory 

RANCHI, DECEMBER 30 (MExN): Nagaland registered a commanding 177-run victory over Mizoram in a Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate Group List A match at the JSCA Oval Ground here on December 29.

Winning the toss, Nagaland elected to bat first and posted a massive total of 399 for 4 in their allotted 50 overs, the second-highest team score of the ongoing 2025-26 season.

The innings was anchored by two brilliant centuries. Nischal D led the charge with a powerful 182 off 130 balls, displaying clean hitting and control. Complementing him was Sedezhalie, who scored a composed 124 off 118 deliveries, combining technical assurance with steady aggression.

For Mizoram, Karthik C A was the most successful bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 82 runs in his 10 overs.

Chasing a challenging target, Mizoram struggled against disciplined Nagaland bowling and were bundled out for 222 in 42 overs. Sahil Reza stood out with a resilient 104 off 105 balls but received little support from other batsmen.

Nagaland’s bowling attack was led by Imliwati and Akavi, who took three wickets each, finishing with figures of 3 for 35 and 3 for 36 respectively.

The victory highlighted Nagaland’s dominance in both batting and bowling departments, with their collective performance ensuring a comprehensive win in the Plate Group encounter.
