Bangalore, June 3 (MExN): A delegation from Nagaland participated in the Quest 2 Learn Annual Summit held on June 2 and 3 in Bangalore. The objective of the summit is to bring educationists, non profits, industries, corporates, governments, and youths under one platform to discuss the importance of building a value chain ranging from education, skills, employment and careers. Lezo Putsure, Director YouthNet, who moderated a session, spoke on the importance of a collaborative effort that includes education, skills, private companies, governments and youths to create an ecosystem that would be beneficial for all stakeholders while ensuring young people get into jobs, informed a press release received here. Youths from across the country who were on the panel shared their experiences and also their fear that one day technology could take away jobs especially when machines and robots replace grassroots workers, it added. CISCO, Genpact and LetsIntern shared the importance of how internships, apprenticeships and creative thinking must be encouraged; how teachers, parents should allow their children to do what they want; how technology should be seen as an enabler to break barriers; and how India needs more entrepreneurs and thinking beyond traditional jobs. The event had about 400 attendees from across 15 states of the country. Nune Chase, who is the Lead of the Quest 2 Learn program, represented YouthNet, while Nelly from Pro-Rural, Shailam, Dimapur based entrepreneur, and students from Modern College represented the Nagaland delegation.
