Kohima, February 21 (MExN): One-day state-level training for dental surgeons was held at the Conference Hall, DH&FW Kohima, Nagaland on February 21. The training was held for dental surgeons serving under the State under different programmes like National Health Mission (NHM), National Oral health Programme (NOHP), National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) and Quality Assurance.
Dr Meribeni Odyuo, Director (Dental) DH&FW graced the programme as special guest. In her speech, Dr Odyuo stressed on the importance of the National Oral health Programme (NOHP) under NHM and how it plays a crucial role in improving oral health in India.
She mentioned to maximise the impact of oral health and convergence with other National Health programmes such as NCDs, NTEP, RBSK and Quality Assurance initiatives which is essential. She encouraged the participants to reaffirm commitment in delivering quality oral health care that is aligned with National Health goals and also to actively participate, exchange knowledge and integrate the insights post training in their professional practice.
The training was organised by NOHP, Nagaland. The programme was chaired by Dr Reyosalu Lase, Dy. Director & SNO (NOHP) who welcomed the training participants and highlighted about the importance and objective of the training.
The resource persons included Dr Alemwabang Aier, Jt Director & SPO, NCD, Dr Vezokholu Theyo, Jt Director & SNO, NTEP, Dr Khelito Zhimomi, Jt Director & SNO, RBSK, Dr Arenla Walling, Jt Director & SNO, (NTCP), Dr Sentirenla, Jr Dental Specialist, DH Dimapur and Dr Neingutuonuo Angami, Jr Dental Specialist, NHAK.
The training concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Neiphrezo Sorunuo, Jr Dental Surgeon, NHAK.
