Nagaland Deputy CM to address DAB eviction issue at Assembly today

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton will make a statement on the “eviction of illegal immigrants in the Disturbed Area Belt (DAB)” as the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) holds the second and final day of its seventh session on September 3.

The day’s proceedings will also feature a discussion on a notice of urgent public importance submitted by Kuzholuzo Nienu to deliberate on “Safeguarding the Rights of Indigenous Communities.” The motion is supported by legislators Dr Neisatuo Mero and Dr Sukhato A Sema.

Two bills are listed for consideration and passage during the sitting  namely the  Nagaland State Finance Commission Bill, 2025, and the Nagaland Flood Plain Zoning Bill, 2025, both to be introduced by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio.

Further, several reports and service rules are scheduled be presented, including the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s report on State Finances for 2023–24, the Nagaland Evaluation Service Rules, 2025, the Nagaland New & Renewable Energy Department Service Rules, 2024, and the Nagaland Forensic Science Laboratory Service Rules, 2024.

More Assembly Committee Reports are also slated also be presented on the second day, as per the List of Business for September 4 issued by the NLA Secretariat. 

The House is scheduled adjournment sine die thereafter.
