DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 15 (MExN): The Dimapur Government College (DGC) boys’ hostel and science block were inaugurated on November 12 by Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher &Technical Education and Tribal Affairs.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the services of those who contributed to the completion of the two buildings and saluted the pioneers of the college for their vision. While encouraging the DGC family to be the stewards of making the institution a centre of excellence, he reminded that a strong and developed society is needed for a better Nagaland and therefore urged the gathering to be consistent, humble and hardworking. 

Short speeches were delivered by Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur; and Dr Apeni Lotha, Director, Higher Education, Nagaland. Er Hokato Sema, Project Engineer, gave a brief report.

Awards were also given to the Nagaland University exam toppers in Arts and Commerce as well as subject toppers of DGC. 

Dr Moanochet Longchar, Principal, delivered the welcome address and Suzzana Yaden, Assistant Professor, pronounced the invocation. A special song was presented by Gloria Mozhui of 1st Semester B.Com, while Kezhaleu Hesso, Vice principal, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was chaired by Dr Vitsosie Vupru, Coordinator, IQAC.
