Nagaland discusses energy efficiency action plan

Kohima, June 6 (MExN): The State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) for the State of Nagaland was discussed in a validation workshop held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima June 3.

During the workshop, Asangla Imiti Commissioner & Secretary (Power) reviewed the Action Plan and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Power, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), and the team for bringing out the much-needed Action Plan for the effective management of energy, informed a DIPR report. 

She also sought support from the stakeholder departments to implement the suggested action plans, it said. 
The workshop was attended by senior officials from stakeholder departments.

As per the report, the development of a state-specific action plan on energy efficiency has been initiated by the Union Ministry of Power and supported by BEE and the Department of Electrical Inspectorate, Government of Nagaland. 

Nagaland is the second state from the North-East  to have validated the SEEAP and the assignment for its development has been executed by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP and GreenTree Global, it said. 

The action plan shall assist the state government departments and agencies to adopt the most sustainable, long-term, and inter-sectoral energy efficiency strategies, it added.
