Nagaland DoSE preparing database of immigrant & emigrant labourers

Kohima, December 3 (MExN): In order to facilitate admissions of children of immigrant (in-migrant) and emigrant (out-migrant) labourers, the Department of School Education (DoSE), Government of Nagaland is preparing a data base of immigrant and emigrant labourers in regards to the State of Nagaland.

A notification received through the DIPR has requested all concerned to register details of such labourers in any of the nearby government schools (GPS, GMS, GHS and GHSS) during the period from December 4 to 22.

Further, all government schools in the State have been directed to give admission to any child who has recently returned back to Nagaland without asking for any other documents except some identity proof. Information provided by the child’s parents will be assumed to be correct and taken as such for giving admission to the child in the relevant class in his/her neighbourhood’s government school.

Public leaders, NGOs and well-wishers have been requested to advise all immigrant or emigrant labourers of their localities to get them registered at nearby government schools and assist the department in ensuring that all eligible children continue studies without any hindrance.
