
Kohima, November 9 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland informed today that the draft photo electoral roll has been published for all the 60 Assembly Constituencies in the State by the respective Electoral Registration Officers.
A press release from the CEO said that there are 12,83,749 total electors. (See breakup in table)
The Electors-Population (EP) ratio of the State is 532 and Gender ratio stands at 1000 males: 1002 females, as per the published draft roll.
The period for filing claims and objections will be from November 9, 2022 to December 8, 2022. Special camps will be held in all the polling stations on November 18 and 19, and December 2 and 3 for receiving claims and objections.
Citizens can also file claims and objections with the concerned Booth Level Officer or with the AERO and ERO. Forms are available for download in ECI and CEO’s website. Applications can also be filed/submitted online through www.nvsp.in and voterportal.eci.gov.in (links are provided in the ECI and CEO’s website) or mobile app – VHA (voter helpline app) which is available for download in Google play store and Apple app store.
On the day of the draft publication, CEO Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, IAS inspected the draft electoral roll at polling stations No. 17 - Officers Hill under 8-Western Angami AC and held interaction with BLO and leaders of the polling area.
He emphasized on the need of an error-free electoral rolls for conduct of free, fair and peaceful elections in the State. He encouraged the citizens to check the draft electoral rolls and file their claims/objections in the relevant forms within the scheduled period.
