Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Health Minister and Family Welfare Minister, Pangnyu Phom and PHED Minister, Jacob Zhimomi today went into institutional quarantine in Dimapur after arriving from Delhi.

“After screening and completion of necessary protocol, the three legislators were taken to the Government quarantine facility in an ambulance,” informed an official.

Meanwhile, Patton also took to Twitter informing about the same and implied that they were going into quarantine as a precautionary measure for “safety of everyone” though they have tested negative twice.

“My colleagues and I have reached Nagaland. While we tested negative for the virus in Delhi as well as in Nagaland, for the safety of everyone, we'll be under Institutional Quarantine as per the existing #COVID__19 SOP in the State,” he updated on Twitter.

“Nevertheless, I'll keep discharging my duties,” he added.

It was informed on Wednesday that Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton and other legislators who recently came in contact with a COVID-19 positive person in Delhi, will quarantine themselves at Government quarantine centre upon their arrival from New Delhi.

Patton and four other State legislators took COVID-19 tests on July 14 after a driver assigned to one of them test positive for the virus on July 13. The results of the tests returned negative on July 15.
