Nagaland Entrepreneurs' Meet 2018 under the aegis of Industries & Commerce department and YouthNet after a daylong storming session on successful business models, branding, marketing and financial linkages here at SIRD Hall has come out with certain recommendations for overall growth of entrepreneurs in Nagaland.  

Imnatiba, Advisor, Industries & Commerce and NIDC in his address said the thinking and approach of the youth should be an asset to the society and the state. He encouraged the entrepreneurs to take advantage to become a leader for economic growth in the north eastern region.  

He also asked the entrepreneurs to innovate and revolutionalize things and take the state to new heights. He challenged the entrepreneurs not to take entrepreneurship just for the sake of profession or to earn livelihood but to build a better society.  

Lithrongla G. Chishi, Commissioner & Secretary, Industry & Commerce, Government of Nagaland urged the youth not only to focus on getting a degree or certificate but to give due attention on skilling themselves.  

She said the essence of skill will take them forward. Lithrongla also announced that the department will intensify StartUp programme by September, 2018.

  Asking the entrepreneurs to give up subsidy mindset, she urged the youth to start small and grow in big way. Lithrongla also informed that during the Hornbill Festival this year, the department would feature only “Make in Nagaland” products in the exhibition-cum-sale stall at the Bamboo Pavilion.  

Dr. Aotoshi, vice chairman, Nagaland State Cooperative Marketing & Consumers' Federation Ltd. (MARCOFED) stressed on the need to frame a feasible plan for Nagaland with regard to Act East Policy.  

He urged the entrepreneurs to go to villages and learn the culture and traditional practices where they can come up with unique products.  

To become successful entrepreneurs, he said, one has to be honest, transparent, ethical and trustworthy. Earlier, opening remarks was given by YouthNet founder, Hekani Jakhalu while YouthNet director, Lezo Putsure pronounced closing remark in the inaugural function.  

Various schemes under KVIC, MSME, animal husbandry & veterinary services, horticulture department and fishery & aquatic resources departments were also highlighted at the meet.

Ltd, Lichan Humtsoe, founder Été Coffee, Michelle Hesso, Consultant/Program Advisor Entrepreneurs Associates, Rohan Abraham, Founder India Trail and Negneithem Hengna founder and proprietor of Runway Nagaland.
