Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad duty party stationed at Dillai checkgate on a ‘tip-off’ intercepted a truck bearing No ASO1 MC 8515 near Khermahal traffic point, Dimapur around 3:00 am on November 19. The team was led by Asst Inspector, Rukhriezetuo.
“After a hot pursuit and upon searching recovered 400 cases of assorted liquor concealed under sacks of preform PET bottles,” K Toshiho Yeptho, SP of Excise & prohibition (MS), Dimapur stated in a press release.
Preliminary investigation done at the office revealed that the truck moved out from 8th Mile, Guwahati with the consignment and was on its way to Imphal, Manipur, the official informed.
In this connection, two persons namely Yumlembam Meitei and K Prem were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act. The seized articles are deposited in the Excise malkhana and further investigation of the case is on, he added.
