Nagaland farmers trained on horti crops

Medziphema, June 7 (MExN): A one day farmers training on ‘food processing and value addition of horticultural crops’ was organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Medziphema, in collaboration with Bhartiya farmer Agro Business Development Multistate Co-operative Society Ltd., Dimapur for Nagaland farmers on June 6.  

A press release stated here that the objective of the training was to skill the farmers on technical knowledge on food processing and value addition of horticulture crops such as preparation of mango squash and green chilli pickle etc.  

The resource person for the training were Md. Manzar Hossain, Post Harvest technologist, CIH, Medziphema and Vinika. K. Aomi, Research Associate (DBT), ICAR Jharnapani and total 50 participants attended the training programme. During the valedictory programme Welcome speech & Report on Training was presented by Dr. Moasosang Longkumer (Training I/C), CIH, Medziphema.  

The training materials and certificate were also distributed to all the participants by Dr. N K Patle, Dy. Comm. & Director I/c. CIH, Medziphema and Dr. Vankatesh N. Hubbali, Director, DCCD, Kochi. At the end of the programme vote of thanks was delivered by Tokivi Zhimomi, Senior Technical assistant, CIH, Medziphema.
