Nagaland Folkloric participated in the 10th SAMVAAD Festival 2023 in Jamshedpur city on November 18.

Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): Nagaland Folkloric participated in the 10th SAMVAAD Festival 2023 in Jamshedpur city on November 18.

The Nagaland team consisting of 29 artists performed the Nagaland Folkloric; Alu Yimer (a duet in Ao language); Ama (Earth Dance); Wanghe Ongching (A Konyak folk song in fusion); Mungmung (A contemporary Sangtam song in Sangtam dialect); Janjara (a musical Cultural Dance depicting different Naga traditional games) and; grand finale with TN Folkloric.  

‘This is the second time artists from Nagaland have participated in this festival under the TaFMA Banner. The Artists from SAMVAAD will also come and participate in the Hornbill Music Festival 2023,’ stated a press release issued by Dr Hovithal Sothu, Project Director, TaFMA.

It may be mentioned that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between TATA Steel Foundation’s SAMVAAD Festival (a Sister Festival Partner of Hornbill Festival) and Task Force of Music and Arts (TaFMA) in 2022.
