Food Safety on Wheels team conduct survey and enforcement samples for analysis and on spot sample adulteration test.

Mokokchung, May 22 (MExN): With the increasing demand of various kinds of fruits and vegetables in the market and mass production of it even during off season, a special drive on fruits and vegetables was conducted by the Food Safety Authority, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, in Mokokchung, Kohima and Dimapur districts i.e. the commercial distributors to rural areas of Nagaland state.

In this regard, the Food Safety Officers (FSOs) have lifted both survey and enforcement samples for analysis and on spot sample adulteration test was done by the Food Safety on Wheels (FSWs) team on May 1, 7 and 8.
As per the DIPR report, a total of 18 samples were collected by FSOs and sent to various laboratories of which analysis report is awaited and a total of 28 on spot tests were performed by the Food Technicians of FSWs.

In addition, it is to state here that depending upon the laboratory report, if any samples were found non-conforming, legal action will be taken against the defaulters.
