MUK, MSUK honours successful students of HSLC and HSSLC
Kohima, June 8 (MExN): Mao Union Kohima (MUK) and Mao Students’ Union Kohima (MSUK) jointly organised a felicitation programme for successful students of HSLC and HSSLC, and conferment of Ashikho Daili Trust Award for Academic Excellence (ADTAFAE) for HSLC toppers. The programme was held at the Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima on June 4 last.
The toppers felicitated at the programme were Kayia Besii (Top 14th HSLC), Chinia Kayina (Top 17th HSLC), and Chovoa Kayina, HSLC Subject Topper (Social Sciences), MSUK stated in a press release.
Special guest and Patron of the award, A Daili in his address challenged the successful students to do better in future saying, ‘nothing is permanent in life.’ He advised the student community to have strong will and determination and put their aims into action. Encouraging the students not to expect to get something immediately the moment they start but to work hard for excellence, he said, “Hard work is the answer.”
In a felicitation address, MUK President, H Dihe urged upon the students to be responsible and contribute to the welfare of the community in particular and the Naga society in general. He challenged the students to work hard, shoulder the responsibilities and to achieve the dreams of their parents.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Ashuzhiini D Robviina, invocation was offered by Pastor K Robvii, Pastor MBC Kohima. MSUK President, Tafo Hugh gave the welcome note while special presentation was performed by Shuziio Chachei and Mariiphro Chakre. Speech on behalf of the parents was rendered by Purnima Kayina and word of gratitude was delivered by MSUK General Secretary, Aniphro Chachei. The benediction was pronounced by Dr A Loso Chalai.
