Nagaland Futsal Club Championship 2025 begins today

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MARCH 19 (MExN): The 4th edition of the Nagaland Futsal Club Championship (NFCC) is set to begin on March 20 at the Futsal Centre, Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima. 

Organised by the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), the tournament brings together futsal teams from across Nagaland to compete for the state championship title.

The tournament,  which officially begin with an opening ceremony on March 20 at 3PM at the Futsal Centre in Sovima, Chümoukedima, will be graced by H Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election. L  Shahoto Yimchunger, Joint Secretary of the NFA and Tournament Secretary of the NFCC, will chair the opening. 

After the ceremony, the tournament will commence.

According to a press release, a total of eight district clubs are participating in the 4th edition. The clubs include Nyenshen FC (Tuensang), Vanguard FC (Tseminyu), Chümoukedima Sporting Club (Chümoukedima), Proper VFC (Dimapur), Aphuyemi FC (Zunheboto), Zasivi FC (Kohima), and Lengreng FC (Peren).

Launched in 2021, the NFCC has rapidly established itself as a premier futsal competition, providing players with the opportunity to showcase their skills at the highest level within the state, it said. 

The champion team of NFCC 2025 will earn the honour of representing Nagaland at the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Futsal Club Championship.  Nyenshen FC has earned a spot in the 2024 AIFF Futsal Club Championship as the winner of the 3rd edition of NFCC.
