Nagaland gears up for DDU-GKY 2.0 implementation

Kohima, May 18 (MExN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted a one-day orientation programme for the prospective project implementing agencies for roll out of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 at Hotel de Oriental Grand, Kohima on May 16. 

Delivering the keynote address, Imtimenla, Addl Secretary & Mission Director highlighted the need for reliable organizations to come forward to implement the programme. She emphasised that it is not just mere business for skilling and placement but a compassionate attitude for the rural poor which is pertinent for successful implementation of the programme, a press release received here stated.

The Mission Director encouraged the participants to enroll for permanent registration number (PRN) with Ministry of Rural Development which is a pre-requisite to submit project application and express hope that as many organizations will become eligible to make concerted effort of addressing unemployment issues of the state.

Menuoneituo Chadi Chief Operating Officer-Skills highlighted the experience of DDUGKY1.0 and shared the expectations for DDU GKY 2.0. He also urged the participating prospective partners to be prompt with their PRN registration and submit proposals based on the expression of interest already floated by NSRLM as the time bound yearly target need to be achieved.

The event had participation from 22 organizations engaged in the skilling ecosystem willing to implement DDU GKY in the state.  Technical sessions were conducted by officials from the Central Technical Support Agency, NABCONS Raja Mithelesh and Bittu Kumar Jha. The programme was moderated by Ebibeni, State Program Manager-Mobilization. 

It may be noted that the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India had notified implementation of DDU GKY 2.0 effective 1st April 2025 after successful implementation of DDUGKY 1.0 across the country. The scheme provides skilling and placement to the rural youths by empanelling eligible organizations to conduct training and facilitate for job placements in the organized sectors across the country and abroad.
