Nagaland to get 250 sub centres in 5 years: Azo

Panso Town (Tuensang) | January 19 : Minister for health & family welfare Küzholüzo (Azo) Nienu today announced that Nagaland will be getting 200 to 250 sub centres in five years time as per the Government of India’s entitlement on creation of 50 sub centres every year in each state of the country.
Inaugurating the Primary Health Centre here this morning, the minister said the state government has been putting its best effort to deliver better health care system to the people of the state. Panso Town which falls under 57th Thonoknyu Assembly Constituency lies around 85 km away from Tuensang district HQs.
The minister also informed that the state will be getting another Para Medical Training Institute, Nursing College and Medical college. Referring to the newly inaugurated PHC here, the minister assured that a staff quarter will be constructed as well as appointment of doctor will be done. Also, as required by the people where there were no bus or sumo services along the route at present, the minister assured that ambulance will be provided to PHC Panso and called for use of this facility well its purpose. Further, the minister said that other entitlements for PHC will be allotted to this Centre too within a month time. In this, Azo asked that people to take care of the facilities being provided by the government, and at the same time asked them to treat it as their own property and take the ownership. On the other hand, Azo asserted that the government has no difficulty in appointing qualified doctors at the medical centres but the absence in place of posting is the matter of deep concern. In this, he called upon the government officials and staff to be present in their station wherever they are posted in the service of the people.
Parliamentary secretary for fisheries, relief & rehabilitation and printing & stationery S.Heno also present on the occasion as the guest of honour.
The function was chaired by Shangchiu, president Pathso Area Village Chief GBs Union while S. Lusang, president, NPF Tuensang division delivered welcome address.
The minister was accompanied by ex- MLA Nüzota Swüro, NPF Phek division president Chivotso Nienu, health & family welfare principal director Dr.V. Sekhose, health & family welfare director Dr.T. L. Nakhro and PS to H&FW minister Besupra Swüro.
The inauguration of PHC was followed by free medical camp, sponsored by NPF Nagaland. The medical camp will go on till January 20.
