Dimapur, November 29 (MExN): Nagaland has been awarded the ‘Silver Medal’ at the 38th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2018 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from November 14 to 27.
The Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu presented the award to the state on the closing day of the trade fair on November 27.
The State’s pavilion received the medal for ‘First for Excellence in Display’ among the North-Eastern States. Assam Pavilion was conferred the Gold Medal.
Twenty six entrepreneurs from the state participated at the trade fair. Among other products, tailoring and decorative items, colourful handlooms and handicrafts, organic fresh fruits and vegetables, dry vegetables and flowers clusters, and processed food were displayed at Nagaland pavilion.
India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) promoted IITF is touted as India’s largest integrated trade fairs providing opportunity to visitors and exhibitors, media persons, marketing professionals, social activists, NGOs etc. where they all “come together to explore their objectives in the dimensions of Business, Social, Cultural, and Educational.”
ITPO is the nodal agency of the Government of India under aegis of Ministry of Commerce and Industry for promoting country’s external trade.
