Nagaland Girls BN NCC training culminates

Kohima, June 29 (MExN): A total of 535 Girls cadets along with 12 Associate National Cadet Corps Officers from all districts of Nagaland attended a 10-day ‘Annual Training Camp’ in Kohima from June 18-28. The camp was conducted by under aegis of NCC group HQ Kohima at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.  

A press release from PRO (Defence) Col C Konwer said that the main emphasis of the same was on all round development of NCC cadets personality including imparting military training on subjects like Physical training, Drill, Weapon training.  

Numerous other subjects of importance such as National Integration, Motivation, Career planning and general health and hygiene were covered during the camp, it said.  

The International Day of Yoga was also celebrated by the NCC Cadets at two venues at IG Stadium and Kohima Science College during the camp on June 21, it added. To mark the occasion of successful conclusion of the camp, the NCC Cadets also organized a cultural programme in which Linda Solo, Director Youth Resource & Sports was the chief guest and Anungla Aier the guest of honour.  

Col Rajeev Kumar, Camp Commandant, Annual Training Camp further informed that guest lectures by eminent personalities on subjects of social importance and a weapon display by 3 Assam Rifles Bn was also arranged during the camp for the Cadets, the release added.
