Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi flagged off a basic life support ambulance at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on June 8. The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch was allotted with this ambulance by National Headquarter/International Federation of Red Cross.

Prof Mukhi expressed happiness over the allotment of such ambulance to the people of the state and hoped that the state branch Nagaland will make the best use of it.

Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch General Secretary, Dr  Neiphi Kire informed that the National Headquarter and International Federation of Red Cross  has provided 39 ambulances to various state branches in which Nagaland state branch is one of it.

The ambulance features oxygen administration, suction machine, IV drip, air conditioning facilities etc. “We are happy that Nagaland is one of the recipients of this Basic Life Support Ambulance for rendering humanitarian services to this part of the country,” said Dr Kire.

Nagaland state branch has work out the modalities for operationalizing this ambulance and its proper maintenance, he said.
