Nagaland Gov graces Nascent Research Association of India meet

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): The 1st annual general meet of the Nascent Research Association of India (NRAI) held on August 25 witnessed one of the most unique approaches to the concept of research, doing justice to its tagline- ‘Research is Formalized Curiosity.’  

PRO to Governor in a press release stated that the event hosted by the Nascent Research Association of India (NRAI) in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs in SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai, was graced by Governor of Nagaland- Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya and his wife.  

Other dignitaries were Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, Vice Chancellor of SRMIST, Dr. Ponnusamy, COE, SRMIST, Dr. R. Nataraj, IPS, ex-Director General of Police, Dr. Ashok Gopalakrishnan, Adjunct Professor, Reva University, Wapangtoshi Longkumer, President of NEIWAC and M Vijaybalaji, Proprietor of HR-Flexi.  

The Association being the brainchild of Aviroop Mukherjee, one of its chief founder members with eight other co-founders happens to deal with a total of 12 domains- six each of scientific and non-scientific domains, this whole aspect demonstrating the ‘multidisciplinary’ nature of the association. The Association is also chiefly guided by research patrons Dr. Dharmasa Pawar and Dr. C. Jayalakshmi.  

The inaugural event started with the welcome address delivered by Aviroop Mukherjee following which the audience was enlightened about the Association by co-founder Soumyajyoti Dey. This was followed by the Induction of Board Members and the Vice Chancellor's address.  

It also had a speech by Dr. R. Nataraj after which the Inaugural was concluded by the chief guest address delivered by Governor of Nagaland who spoke about the importance of the North East Indian region, it is aspects, education and many more, all in all wishing the best of success to the Association.  

The Valedictory programme had speeches by all the other dignitaries where Wapangtoshi also spoke on the lines of what the Hon. Governor had spoken and Dr. Ashok and Vijaybalaji on things that touched the hearts of everyone in the audience.  

To put a positive conclusion to this knowledge diaspora, there was a Special Research Award Ceremony where the Association duly recognised the efforts of Research and Development of Junior Scientists from domains of Biomedical, Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering.  

All in all, this conclave was a chance for the desired ones to receive answers to questions that have plagued one's mind for long and satiate the curiosity of their minds.
