Kohima, February 18 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan graced the National Integration Tour flagging ceremony at Kohima Garrison Assam Rifles. The National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by the 13 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR North, started from February 4 and culminated on February 18. A total of 16 students and four teachers from various colleges in Kohima visited the cities of Mumbai, Pune and Goa.

Speaking at the flagging ceremony, the Governor said that India is a land of unparalleled beauty, rich traditions and diverse cultures. As citizens of this great nation, it is important that we understand and appreciate each other’s differences while celebrating our shared values.

“I am sure this tour has shown us how such interactions and experiences can foster mutual respect, understanding and unity among our people. These experiences have not only broadened your horizons but also instilled in you a deep sense of pride and appreciation for our nation's rich heritage and vibrant present,” the Governor said.

“The efforts put in to nurture the spirit of unity among the youths are commendable and deserve our appreciation. The Assam Rifles have, time and again, demonstrated their dedication to the service of our nation, and this initiative is yet another testament to their commitment towards their duty,” he added.

It is through such initiatives that we can truly understand and appreciate the diversity that defines our nation and work towards a future where harmony and understanding prevail. The Governor further appealed all to strive and be ambassadors of peace, unity and integration, and work towards building a nation that is united in its diversity.
