Is the Nagaland government doing enough to fight unemployment?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    I see some youngsters getting lots of opportunities. I think this is a welcome step. I hope the CM and his government will also promote other youths with the same enthusiasm, and not just the same old faces every time and every where.
•    Yap, all the govt families n relatives are gainfully employed.
•    Well at least in my case I’ll say ‘yes.’ With the help of an interest free loan given to me more than a decade back by YRS, I was able to establish my business by honestly utilizing the fund. I got myself employed and now I’m employing 100% locals with scores of families earning their lively hood. Lets be very reasonable here… To blame the govt is one thing but how about blaming ourselves? How many of the business establishments in our state employ locals. It’ll be good to know the ration of local vs non local employees in the private firms. Another points is if there is no enough employment opportunities created, how come thousands of outsiders pour in daily and make a fortune? I believe hundreds and thousands have been given the privilege to be self employed but very few had been faithful and honest. Let us also remember.. No govt on earth can create enough opportunity for direct employment. Greater share of the responsibility falls on the citizens and we all need to be more sensible.
•    becoz most of de literate people r jobless
•    Sure, are they not sending lots of Naga youths to South Korea and some middle-east country. Of course in the name of employment opportunities they are sending youths to be exploited off their talents. If there is employment, at least there should be a minimum standard and things should be regulated. It should be employment with justice.
•    I must appreciate the Present Govt. for the positive approach it has undertaken, especially in the un-employment front, like, for example, giving backdoor employment in Power Department, creating reservation for the creamy layer belonging to the so-called backward tribes, though the clock is moving forward.
•    Because there are large number of educated unemployed in nagaland and we can see the state govt are trying their level best in many ways to solve on most of the major areas more then other states if we compare.
•    No, becoz though Govt. is bringing out various policies for self employment, it is not benefiting or reaching the targeted groups. we need honest & committed people to man & implement such schemes (nepotism & favoritism should be eradicated first)
•    Development required systematic planning which is a time taking process.

Some of those who voted NO  had this to say:
•    No the govt is not doing enough. No one can say that it is not the responsibility of the government to create jobs. Look at Obama is he not facing lots of political difficulties because unemployment is increasing and employment opportunities is decreasing. It is the same in Europe as well, lots of governments are facing problems because of unemployment. So no one in the right frame of mind can let the govt off the hook. Obviously the govt cannot create a govt job for everyone, but what I am saying is that the govt must take initiative to expand the private market as well so that opportunities are created for employment. Just giving lots of jobs and businesses to family members, some selected young entrepreneurs will not solve the problem.
•    I dont think the government is really concerned about employment. The argument they provide is that the public sector is already over-burdened because the number of government employees have exceeded saturation point. But the public sector alone is not the only avenue for employment. If Nagas want to progress there should be more employees in the private sector. Only when the number of employees in the public sector has far exceeded the number of employees in the public sector than we can say that some development is taking place. If not, it is better for the government not to make too many tall claims.
• Invite private co.& set up industries.
• Becoz they are mostly corrupted n most of them thinks only 4 themselves. The only way in which they spend most of their money is during general elections.
• With the kind of stability the NPF has in the state assembly, one would expect them to do much more on unemployment. The state of unemployment in Nagaland is very chronic and so one cannot judge the performance of the government based merely on statistics. The government must be assessed based on their intent, political will, policies and strategic implementation. Sadly they have not shown any intent and political will to tackle unemployment and they dont seem to have the infrastructural ability to implement policies that may help in easing unemployment.
•    No. the govt is doing absolutely nothing to fight unemployment!!! Well let them prove it if they claim it..the govt irritates us to the point of lunacy by its policies.
•    Opportunities are mostly being avail by the near and close ones of the officials who are at the helm of the govt.  state of affairs.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    I don’t think we the public have any right to say anything the govt does cause the moment we sold our votes for a mere 100, 1000 rupees we even sold our future and our rights. So it is for our own foolishness that we have to face this kind of problem. And if you tend to be like this for the rest of your life please don’t settle for less than 1 to 2 lakhs cause when you sell your vote you will be selling your rights for the next 5 years. Mind me but “prevention is better than cure.”
•    Due to reservation policy the government had messed it up. And at the same time the recruitment system was so aggressive because of excessive political parties.
•    The shallowness of the state govt towards employment policies has been revealed. The government has no concrete policy to tackle employment. The only thing they have done is to increase the number of IRB battalions. Sending Nagas to the police force is not the answer. Today many people are questioning the Nagas because the Naga IRB has been responsible for many wrong doings in India. If we are not careful, the Nagas will become like the way Gurkhas were once used by England and India. Nagas cannot be made into mercenaries by the state government. Also this recent news about sending Nagas for employment abroad at a lower than minimum wage must be questioned by one and all. The government if it is really serious must create a better policy to employment.
