Nagaland Governor attends Ganapati Utsav and Ganesh Chaturthi in Kolkata

Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan graced on the Ganapati Utsav and Padmabandhan inaugural ceremony at Biswamata Temple, Kolkata on September 18.

Speaking on the ceremony, the Governor expressed his happiness in the pious land of Biswamata Temple and Biswa Sevashram Sangha and said, “Biswamata Temple holds a special place in our hearts as it serves as a symbol of spirituality, unity and devotion. It is within these sacred walls that we find solace, seek guidance and connect with the divine.”

The Governor said it is heartening to know that ‘Thakur Shree Shree Samir Brahmachari Biswa Sevashram Sangha’ is a philanthropic multifarious social welfare and spiritual organization engaged in various social, cultural and spiritual activities such as running a free primary school, charitable eye hospital and dispensary, free ambulance service, supporting the needy people of the society by way of distribution of ration, clothes, blankets etc regularly.

The Governor appreciated the organization conducting annual free medical camp at Gangasagar Mela, Kumva Mela and provides relief to the people affected by natural calamities, PRO Raj Bhavan Kohima stated in a press release. 

“The world we live is often chaotic and fast paced, filled with distraction and challenges,” he said adding, “in these chaos, their temple stands tall, offering sanctuary of peace and tranquility. It is a place where we leave our worldly worries at the door and immerse ourselves in prayer, meditation and contemplation.”

“Unity should be another essence of their temple,” he asserted and the urged the citizens that “everyone should not be defined by our differences, but rather, they should come together as one community of devotees.”

Meanwhile, the Governor of Nagaland also graced on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi at Bhayaharini Kali Mandir, Kolkata on September 18

Speaking on occasion, La Ganesan said that this temple holds immense significance for the community and has been actively involved in several noble initiatives over the years, especially during the challenging times brought upon us by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He appreciated a great deal about the works that this temple has been actively engaged in relief work, medical camps, and various other initiatives to support the community.

The Governor believed that true devotion lies in serving humanity. He expressed his happiness that this temple not only worships the divine but also actively contributes to the well-being of the society and also said their dedication serves as an inspiration to all of us and reinforces the importance of community service.

The Governor said that the Ganesh Chaturthi is a time of celebration, joy, and unity. It is a time to come together as a community, strengthen our bonds, and seek blessings from the divine. He urged everyone to take a moment to appreciate the efforts put forth by the members of this temple as we celebrate Lord Ganesha's presence in our lives.
Further, the Governor conveyed his wishes saying, “May Lord Ganpati blesses all and guides us on the path of humanity, compassion and service for their noble endeavors.” He also hoped that may this temple continue to be a beacon of light, offering solace and support to those in need.
