RANGAPAHAR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La Ganesan attended the grand finale of the Spear Corps' "Fusion of the Bands" Season 2 at Rangapahar Military Station on Thursday, lauding the initiative for fostering unity through music.

Speaking at the event, organized under Operation Sadbhavana, Ganesan commended the General Officer Commanding of the 3 Corps, Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, and the entire Spear Corps fraternity for providing a platform that empowers Naga youth through cultural and artistic expression.

“This event not only celebrates talent but also strengthens the bonds of unity, which lie at the heart of our nation’s ethos,” Ganesan said.

Highlighting Nagaland’s rich artistic heritage, the governor praised the musical fusion of Naga artists with Hindi music, calling it a testament to India’s "unity in diversity." He emphasized that Hindi, beyond being a language, serves as a bridge fostering national integration.

“Promoting Hindi is not about overshadowing local dialects and culture but about creating an additional channel to express our shared identity as Indians,” Ganesan said. “When young artists sing in Hindi, they amplify the message that diversity and unity can co-exist, enriching our collective national pride.”

The governor also lauded the Indian Army’s efforts under Operation Sadbhavana, describing such initiatives as vital in nurturing talent, promoting national unity, and strengthening the bond between the armed forces and civilian communities.

He urged attendees to uphold the spirit of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat," emphasizing that the melodies of Naga youth serve as a reminder that the nation's strength lies in unity, creativity, and mutual understanding.
