
Kohima, September 4 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland LA Ganesan has expressed profound anguish and sorrow over the tragic landslides that occurred along the Kohima-Dimapur National Highway on September 3.
“The natural calamity has brought about severe devastation that has affected all of us and also led to tragic loss of lives and injuries,” he said. In this connection, the Governor extended his condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in the tragic incident and expressed solidarity during their time of grief.
He also conveyed sympathy and support for all the families whose homes and livelihoods have been adversely impacted by the calamity and further wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.
Meanwhile, Ganesan informed that the State Government is taking all necessary measures to provide relief and assistance to all those affected. He also called upon the the people of Nagaland to come together in solidarity and offer every possible support to assist those in need during these challenging times.
He also acknowledges the unwavering efforts of the district administration, police, government departments, local authorities and volunteers who have been working tirelessly in the affected areas.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang also expressed deep anguish over the incidents.
