Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended greetings to the Sumi community on the occasion of Tuluni festival 2018.
Acharya in a press release issued by his PRO called on all to take time and thank Almighty for his unwavering love and blessing. Tuluni also celebrates solidarity, sharing and oneness, he added.
The Governor termed the festival an occasion to rededicate oneself with renewed vigour to achieve peace, progress and prosperity. Stating that the festival should be a source for building unity, he called on all to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and all round development in the State.
“Let us also continue to safeguard and promote the rich culture and traditions through our festivals and come together and rededicate ourselves to make the atmosphere conducive in our towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State,” Acharya urged.
“May the festival of Tuluni bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Sumis in particular and Nagas in general,” he added.
Dimapur Meetei Council has also extended warm greetings to all the “Sumi brothers and sisters” of Nagaland on the occasion of Tuluni. In a press release, the Council hoped that the festival will bind the people with peace, happiness and brotherhood. “May the good Lord bless one and all for advantageous year,” it added.
