Nagaland Governor recalls Pusa as a great social worker

More organisations mourn KV Pusa’s death

Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): Condolences continued to pour in for KV Pusa, former minister and ex-president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), who passed away in Kohima on January 2.    

Governor: Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya described KV Pusa as a great social worker. “It is really very tough for me to believe that now he is not with us. This is really sad and a great loss indeed to the people and to all the Nagas. He was a person who had worked for the welfare of all the Naga tribes. He was very pleasant with an accommodating personality and a secular person respecting all religion,” stated the Governor in a condolence message. Acharya further acknowledged that throughout his political career, Pusa contributed immensely towards the development of the State and in particular the Southern Angami region. “His vast contribution in various fields will be always treasured and remembered by the people of the State.” The Governor offered deepest sympathy and prayer to the bereaved family and all the near and dear ones during this time of sorrow.    

ENLU: The Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union (ENLU) Convenor and Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister P. Longon, on behalf of ENLU, has expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of KV Pusa. In a condolence message, ENLU said the demise of Pusa is a great loss to the Naga society and a big vacuum has been created. “The untimely demise of Pusa is a great loss to the Nagas and the void created by his death would be difficult to fill,” it added. The ENLU described Late Pusa as a true Naga patriot and a seasoned politician who worked for the aspiration of the Naga people during his lifetime. It further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.    

Congress, Chumukedima: The Congress unit of Chumukedima also expressed shock and sadness at the sudden demise of former Minister and veteran Congress leader KV Pusa. “He was an active and a true political leader and worked under different capacities during the Congress regime in Nagaland. He was a man of vision who tirelessly worked towards the cause of the Naga people,” stated a condolence message from the President and Secretary of Congress, Chumukedima unit. The unit further acknowledged that his immense good works will be remembered and treasured and the vacuum created by his demise will be difficult to be filled. Meanwhile, it conveyed deepest condolences and prayed that the Almighty God would grant solace and strength to the bereaved family members at this hour of grief and pain and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.    

BJP: The Nagaland State BJP recalled that Pusa was a tall Naga leader having served the society in different capacities since his youth as part of Southern Angami Sports Association, Board Chairman of Kohima English School (now Mezhur Higher Secondary Schoo), and in his long political career as President of the NPCC as well as Minister under various ministries with varied portfolios. The Nagaland State BJP President, Visasolie Lhoungu in his condolence message mourned the loss of a “great leader” of the state and particularly of the southern Angami region. The party further prayed for the departed soul and for his family during their time of grief.
