Nagaland: Governor recommends criminal case against 3 School Education officials

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 20 (MExN): The Department of School Education has issued show cause notice to three officials of the Department of School Education for misappropriation of public money, fabrication of documents, cheating and criminal breach of trust. 


This was informed in a notice from the Nagaland Governor’s Secretariat to the Nagaland Chief Secretary, which circulated on social media on February 20.


The notice, dated February 17, appended by T Mhabemo Yanthan, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, informed that the notices were served to a Joint Director, Directorate of School Education; and two Junior Education Officers.


It further stated that since the offences are criminal and serious, the Nagaland Governor “desires that the Government may consider getting a criminal case registered and investigated. 


The notice further informed that the Supreme Court has held that criminal and departmental proceedings may run simultaneously.
