Nagaland Govt allows opening of public spaces, with conditions

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 21 (MExN): The Nagaland Government has allowed the opening of various public spaces like entertainment parks, outdoor parks, recreation areas, museums, exhibitions, art galleries, as well as Cinema Halls/ Multiplexes/ Theatres, subject to strict adherence to the provisions stipulated in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 

In pursuance of the decision taken by the High Powered Committee in a meeting held on December 18, Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha issued an order on Monday, detailing a set of SOPs that the establishments have to follow. 

Staggered timings, sanitisation of premises, compulsory wearing of face masks and physical distancing and reducing intake to 50% of capacity, were some of the conditions detailed in the SOP.

 For any religious place/place of worship, the intake has been increased to 200 or 50% of capacity, whichever is lower, and the timings for the opening and closing of such places maybe decided as per requirements by the trustee/ management concerned. 

Social/ academic/ sports/ entertainment/ cultural/ political/ religious functions and congregation beyond the present limit of 100 persons have also been permitted out Containment Zones, subject to adherence to the SOPs.
