Nagaland: Govt employees Aaadhar enabling to be completed by June 15, said CS on June 14

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland has made Aadhar enrolment mandatory for all government employees. All departments have been requested to link the Aadhaar number of each employee and seed the same to their respective personal files and Service Books for all categories of employees at the earliest.  

Further, as per the decision taken by the cabinet on March 8, all the departments have been requested to ensure the introduction of Aadhaar enabled biometric attendance system for all government employees to be completed on or before June 15, which was 5 days back. According to the Information Cell of the Secretariat, this was mentioned in an office memorandum of Chief Secretary dated June 14.  

Basically, the Chief Secretary expected all this to happen within a day.  

“In order to improve governance and increase the adoption of e-governance at all levels as well as to promote work culture among the government employees, it has been decided to make mandatory for every state government employees to enroll under Aadhaar. The state government has to utilize the full scope of information technology in improving overall governance and performance of the employees and also remove the bogus and ghost employees,” stated the Secretariat’s Information Cell, according to a press release from the DIPR.
