Nagaland Govt eyes stronger ties with NDA

Alliance highlights development partnership, Nagaland’s role in national progress

DIMAPUR, JUNE 9 (MExN): As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) marks 11 years at the Centre and completes one year of its third consecutive term, the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government of Nagaland has used the occasion to reaffirm its political alignment with the coalition led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reiterate its commitment to “inclusive development” and “strong governance.”

The PDA, a coalition of the NDPP and BJP in Nagaland with support from the NPP, JD(U), LJP, NPF, RPI, and four Independent MLAs, stated it has worked “in close partnership” with the NDA government in New Delhi to deliver development outcomes in the state over the past seven years.

In a statement issued by PDA spokesperson and Minister KG Kenye, the alliance emphasized not only its support for the NDA leadership but also its continued aspiration to be an “active contributor in the nation-building process.”

“This collaboration has enabled Nagaland and its people to be active contributors in the nation-building process,” the statement read. “We remain inspired by the role of our youth and citizens in shaping a brighter future for India.”

The message signals the PDA’s ongoing support for the NDA's national agenda while reinforcing the political stability of the Rio-led government in Nagaland, where the alliance has maintained its hold since 2018.

Kenye also credited the NDA's governance model for enabling smaller states like Nagaland to participate more directly in central development initiatives. “We express our deep appreciation to the NDA leadership and all alliance partners for their unwavering commitment to the principles of inclusive development, collective responsibility, and strong governance,” he said.

NDPP: Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) also joined the rest of the NDA in celebrating this historic and joyous occasion and looks forward to the future with renewed hope.

NDPP Media & Communication Committee said that NDA under the leadership of the Prime Minister has grown by leaps and bounds and has taken India to become the World’s fourth largest economy. “With the many innovative programs being taken up by the present leadership, the NDPP is confident that India will only grow stronger in the days and years to come, reaching many more milestones,” it added.
