Nagaland govt officials attend training on ethics & values

Kohima, February 24 (MExN): Three-day mid-career training on ‘ethics and values in public governance’ was inaugurated at the Administrative Training Institute, Kohima on February 24.

A DIPR report stated that Additional Director (Admn) Angelina Tajen pointed out that regular training on ethics and values for NCS & NSS Officers began in July 2019 with the initiative of the Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and conducted by ATI in collaboration with Initiatives of Change, Panchgani, Maharashtra. 

With the present scenario of visible talks on corruption, degradation in moral principles and the practice of blaming the system of the day or the people involved in the governance system, she encouraged the participants by stating that the change should start from us. She reminded that government servants are faced with many ethical issues that demands for reorientation of priorities in the workplace and encouraged the gathering to introspect on whether they are doing the right thing or not.

L Youdang Jamir, Additional Director (Training), chaired the inaugural programme with Kiran Gandhi, introducing the activities of Initiatives of Change and Niketu Iralu delivering a short speech on ‘Challenges and Opportunities’.

Initiatives of Change is a diverse global network committed to building trust across the world’s divides comprising of people of many cultures, nations, beliefs and backgrounds committed to transforming society through changes in individuals and relationships starting in their own lives. Initiatives of Change programme are approved by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), New Delhi and are a part of the training for All India Service Officers. They also organise training for businessmen, teachers, youth, Indian army, tribal and union leaders.
