Nagaland Govt spent over Rs 24 crore relief for stranded citizens

The Nagaland State Government has disbursed a total amount of Rs 24,84,86,000 to stranded Nagaland citizens affected by the COVID-19 pandemic till date. 


Nagaland Spokesperson for COVID-19, Mmhonlumo Kikon informed that the government will publish the list of all the beneficiaries and the amount given to them in the next few days. 


In comparison to other States in the country, Kikon stated that the Government of Nagaland has spent the highest amount of money in supporting students and working citizens citing the special package of Rs 3,000 for students and Rs 4,000 for working persons. Another important aspect is the special package of Rs 20,000 for patients outside the State and one-time assistance of Rs 10,000 for non-returnees. 


"From the very beginning, the government has been taking the challenge of supporting students and working citizens outside Nagaland to look into the issues they have raised," he added.
