Kohima, November 9 (MExN): The State Government of Nagaland has submitted its comments on the Draft Memorandum of Settlement-III, concerning the proposed Frontier Nagaland Territory or Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority, to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. The Home Department issued a press release on Friday confirming this development.
The letter, dated November 6, was sent to the Secretary of the MHA, under the reference number CON-1/G/1/2011(Vol-I). According to the press release, the State Cabinet, in a meeting held on October 30, gave its approval for the detailed point-wise comments included in the submission. The proposal focuses on the districts of Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, Kiphire, Noklak, and Shamator in Eastern Nagaland.
The government's comments are intended to contribute to discussions regarding the proposed Frontier Nagaland Territory or Territorial Authority as the central government reviews options for administrative adjustments in the region.
