The Nagaland Government has decided to constitute a "Political Affairs Committee (PAC)" comprising of the Council of Ministers and the Legislature Leaders of all the Political Parties in the 14th House of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly purportedly to find an “inclusive solution to the long drawn Indo-Naga Political issue as a facilitator.”

The decision was made during a High Level Political meeting held on May 9 under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio.

This is being initiated once again with a renewed vigour in furtherance in the spirit of the All Party Opposition-less Government in pursuit of a broad consensus for an early and amicable settlement, stated Nagaland’s Parliamentary Affairs and Power Minister KG Kenye.

In line with this, all the Legislature Party Leaders have been directed to initiate the formation of "Political Consultative Committees" (PCCs) in consultation with their respective Party organisations to deal with matters exclusively for the purpose mentioned above.

The size of the members comprising the PCCs will vary as per the numerical strength of their Legislators in the 14th NLA as categorised follow (a) 10 MLAs and above  - 7 members committee, 5 MLAs and above – 5 members committee, 1 MLA and above- 3 members committee and independent MLAs- Convenor and Co-Convenor .

Kenye asked all the concerned to treat the matter on priority and the list of the PCCs may be submitted to  him at the earliest.
