Nagaland govt to convene consultative meet on AFSPA

The Nagaland state government has called for a ‘Consultative meeting on Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1958 (AFSPA)’ on April 4. The state Home Department issued a circular on March 31, informed that the meeting will be held at the Rhododendron Hall, Nagaland Police Complex, Chümoukedima where the state Cabinet led by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister; Chief Secretary and Director General of Police and other senior government officials will be present.  

It requested the following organizations to attend: Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organization, Tenyimi Peoples' Organization, Angami Public Organization, Ao Senden, Mokokchung, Chakhesang Public Organization, Chang Khulei Setsang, Konyak Union, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, Lotha Hoho, Phom People Council, Pochury Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Sumi Hoho, Tikhir Tribal Council, United Sangtam Likhum Pumji, Yimkhiung Tribal Council, and Nagaland Zeliang People Organization.
