Kohima, January 14 (MExN): Former Pradesh Congress Committee President and AICC member, KV Pusa has urged the Nagaland state government to perform its duties to safeguard the people. Pusa, in a press note today, said that instead of “playing a blame game,” the state government should perform its duties to safeguard the people and work for their welfare. Referring to the confrontation between the Sumi public and the NSCN (IM) at Mukalimi Designated Camp, Zunheboto and the recent violence and unrest in Karbi Anglong, the Congress leader said that “blame games would not resolve the issue but would further aggravate the volatile situation.” As such, he urged the government to act according to the wishes and interest of the people, so as to prevent such incidents in the future. Pusa asked the government to provide adequate compensation for the victims of the Mukalimi incident. He also called for measures in order to safeguard the welfare of the Rengma people, who have been displaced due to the violence in Karbi Anglong. Pusa added that the Nagaland state government should adequately compensate the Rengma people who have been displaced.
