Nagaland Govt urged to grant leave for Chaga Gadi and Langsimngee

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Zeliang Naga community has appealed to the Government of Nagaland to grant special leave to its employees for the upcoming premier festival of Chaga Gadi and Langsimngee.

In a press release issued through the DIPR, Rutmakbo, President of the Liangmai Welfare Society (LWS) Kohima, requested the state government to declare a restricted holiday on October 30 and 31 to allow Zeliang employees to celebrate the festival.

The festival, observed from October 30 to 31 every year, holds great cultural and social significance for the Zeliang community, which keenly celebrates the occasion.

“The consideration of the Government would greatly honour the rich cultural tapestry of the Zeliang community and help strengthen community bonds,” Rutmakbo stated.

The appeal seeks to ensure that all Zeliang employees under the state government can avail the leave to celebrate the festival without any hindrances.
