MY Bharat Nagaland state director Alphonce Toppo including the officials of the Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports and National Service Scheme today called for active and mass participation of the youth in the initiative of Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027.
Sharing an overview of the initiative and opportunity available for young people to participate and contribute towards the vision of Viskit Bharat, Toppo said that since 1995, National Youth Day (NYD) is observed every year on 12 January to mark Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary.
In 2025, NYF was transformed into VBYLD to align with the Prime Minister's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
50+ lakh participants and 3,000 finalists will mark the VBYLD, Toppo told the press conference here today at Hotel Japfii, Kohima.
VBYLD-2027 engages youth aged 15–29 across six tracks
District youth festival event has been scheduled for September 1 to October 31 while state level event is slated from November 17 to December 7.
The National level will be organised together with the VBYLD on 10- 12 January, 2027.
The cultural track of VBYLD 2027 will be organised in three progressive stages (District, State and National levels) in physical mode, ensuring grassroots participation and culminating in a grand national celebration in Delhi.
Quiz, essay and presentation across 10 Regional Clusters will mark the Viksit Bharat Challenge while Youth Parliament will fosters dialogue, leadership, and civic participation among youth
In Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge, New track will be introduced for startup ideas aligned with Viksit Bharat @2047.
The event will also be marked by hack for social cause and Design for Bharat.
Folk Dance, Folk Song, Painting, Nukad Natak & Poetry writing will mark Cultural Track event.
District-level winners will compete at the state round for selection to the National VBYLD.
Nagaland is part of the North East Frontier Region (Purvodaya), comprising Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Sikkim and Tripura. The regional theme for the programme is “Act East, Cultural Leadership & Enhancing Connectivity.”
State-Level Youth Festival on September 28
Nagaland’s Youth Resources & Sports department director Kethosituo Sekhose, said that the state government is fully prepared to conduct Viksit Bharat Youth Leaders' Challenge, while at the district level, it has already started in some districts.
He announced that Naroenla, Youth Resources Officer has been nominated a State Nodal Officer for VBYLD.
Sekhose said that the State-Level Youth Festival will take place on September 28.
He requested all the eligible youths, from the age of 15 to 29, to join the quiz and essay competition.
“Our youth in the past have been performing very well, particularly in youth parliament and even in other activities,” he said.
We will be having the cultural competitions during the youth festival, he said adding that Sonic Showdown will also take place on September 29.
Bands from the higher secondary or high school level, will be participating in this event at RCEMPA, Jotsoma.
Nagaland’s State NSS officer Ruokuovituo Zatsu called for greater number of the youth participation in the activities Viksit Bharat young leaders dialogue in the state.
Pradeep J, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Kohima maintained that Viksit Bharat Young Leaders' Dialogue provides an opportunity to the youth to think, question, create, innovate, lead and contribute.
“Your ideas matters, your talent matters, your voice matters and your participation matters,” he said and called for active participation of the youth.
“Let us ensure that the voice, talent, creativity and aspirations of the youth of Nagaland find a place in the National Dialogue,” he added.
