Nagaland GST collection rises 39% year-on-year in September

Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): Nagaland recorded Rs 76 crore in gross GST revenue in September 2026, up 39% from Rs 55 crore in September 2025, according to the latest GST revenue data of the Union Ministry of Finance. 

The state-wise gross GST figure excludes GST on import of goods.

With the September collection, Nagaland’s gross GST revenue for the first six months of FY 2026-27 (April–September) stood at Rs 493 crore.

April recorded the highest monthly collection at Rs 122 crore. Collections subsequently declined to Rs 64 crore in May before rising to Rs 88 crore in June. The collection stood at Rs 76 crore in July and Rs 67 crore in August before increasing to Rs 76 crore in September.

The taxpayer base also increased during the first half of the fiscal. 

The September taxpayer base stood at 11,324 registrations, up 42 from 11,282 in August. Compared with 11,443 registrations in April, however, the September figure was 119 lower, representing a decline of about 1.0%.

The September GST data also showed Nagaland’s cumulative pre-settlement SGST at Rs 222 crore for April–September 2026, compared with Rs 211 crore during the corresponding period of 2025-26, an increase of 6%. 

Cumulative post-settlement SGST stood at Rs 630 crore, compared with Rs 620 crore a year earlier, representing 2% growth.     

Nationally, gross GST revenue during September 2026 stood at Rs 2,03,521 crore, up 14.7% year-on-year, while the April–September 2026 cumulative gross collection stood at Rs 12,46,278 crore, an increase of 11.6% over the corresponding period of 2025-26.
